Autumn Maples kimono photoshoots in Nara
Autumn maples — koyo in Japanese — is the second-most-coveted bridal photography season in Japan after cherry blossoms. From mid-November to early December, Kyoto's temple gardens, Nara's ancient parks, and the maple-lined paths around Tokyo turn vivid red, orange, and gold. Vermilion shrine architecture and traditional kimono read most powerfully against these autumn colors, making koyo the photographer's favorite season for dramatic, painterly portraits.
